As part of the APAC Regional Compliance team, you will implement, monitor, review and identify key control issues to minimize the organization’s risk effects. You will be responsible to ensure the company follows the local regulatory and licensing requirements required by the Hong Kong Insurance Authority.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Work in association with the Head of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs, Asia Pacific and Regional Compliance team to implement and monitor the local/ regional Compliance Program and work with management to promote a culture of compliance across the organization
  • Liaise closely and directly with local regulatory authorities, for example the Hong Kong Insurance Authority and Lloyd’s Hong Kong as well as some instances with regional regulatory authorities
  • Review all legislative updates including Acts, regulations, and standards) which could impact the company/business operations, ensuring that legal/ compliance obligations are understood by stakeholders and providing timely advice to the management as appropriate
  • Provide timely and accurate advice to internal stakeholders on various compliance related issues such as local regulatory obligations, Sanctions/ AML queries and licensing requirements
  • Work closely with other control functions regionally or globally including Enterprise Risk Management, Finance and Internal Audit, to identify key control issues and ensure adequate control are put in place to mitigate risks to the company
  • Provide periodic review and update of internal policies and procedures
  • Identify gaps and provide and/or coordinate the provision of compliance training to management and staff to address gaps/topical issues that may affect the Company and/or business operations

You will report to the Head of Compliance and Regulatory Affairs, Asia Pacific.

SHARE your talent

  • We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
  • 3-5 years’ experience in compliance/ risk related roles, preferably in the insurance/reinsurance industry
  • Business, Accountancy, Audit or Legal background would be an advantage
  • Good understanding of Hong Kong Insurance regulations and the Hong Kong Insurance Authority
  • Strong communication skills with proven ability to communicate across all levels in the organization
  • Independent worker with very good stakeholder management capability
  • Regional travelling approximate 10% may be required
