Network Engineer

Position purpose

Capgemini Network Tower team in Data Services consists of talented group of professionals with many years of experience in network infrastructure. Our engineers are supporting various network infrastructures - but it is not only limited to managing existing infrastructures but also designing, evaluating and evolving environments.

Currently Data Services is looking for highly motivated individuals to join network team to support new logo that appears in its portfolio.

We are looking for professionals able to work within a team which is responsible end to end for supporting and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures.

Job description

The Network Engineer in Data Services is responsible for ensuring smooth operation of communication networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability. Scope of duties includes participation in evaluation, upgrade and support of network infrastructure (patch and maintenance). This person will be responsible for resolving network issues using existing procedures to solve routine problems and escalating when appropriate; he will also participate in monitoring and analyzing network traffic. Together with other team members will be responsible for ensuring 24x7 operations and focusing on Service Level Agreement.

Main accountabilities

• Participate in projects of transformation and support network infrastructure and related services of our customers
• Provide technical support, diagnostics and resolution of problems
• Maintain existing network infrastructures
• Capacity management
• Ensure smooth operation of complex network environment in order to provide maximum performance and availability

Requirements

Essential:

• Degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Telecommunication or a related field)
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals
• Experience in managing large scale networks
• At least 2-3 years in networking technologies and operations including network performance and/or network application delivery experience
• Solid experience with LAN (switching, routing, high availability)
• Working experience with load balancers (experience with F5 solutions is a plus)
• Knowledge of security concepts, components and tools
• Knowledge about wireless infrastructures
• Knowledge of Voice/VoIP/IP Telephony
• Good troubleshooting skills and problem solving abilities
• Knowledge about monitoring and troubleshooting tools
• English - very good written and oral communication skills
• Good organizational and multi-tasking skills

Desirable:

• Network certification on professional level in any of paths offered by Cisco (CCNP Routing and Switching or Security is a plus)
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux and/or Wintel
• Experience with Cloud-based deployments
• ITIL process awareness (ITIL Foundation is a plus)
• Understanding of Project Management concepts
• Very good time management
