Microsoft Senior Systems EngineerMiejsce pracy: Warszawa
Tasks:
- Analyse, diagnose and correct problems related to customer PROD and TEST databases
- Active capacity planning and management
- Analyse server hardware needs and requirements and recommend solutions as they relate to architecture and implementation of databases for large corporate customers
- Analyse complex data using a variety of database management software tools, and prepare reports on database performance, reliability, availability and growth
- Design and implement backup and recovery policies and procedures
- Manage the installations, operation, backup, recovery and general maintenance of databases
- Develop, report upon, and manage database and data security, including mitigation of security issues
- Resolve database performance issues or outage conditions
- Collaborate closely and proactively with operations teams in situations where database activity will affect the systems or networks
- Database product/tools selection and integration
- Install, configure and upgrade databases and related products
- Planning and Scheduling Optimisation (PSO) PaaS solution
- Field Service Management (FSM) PaaS solution
- Enterprise Operational Intelligence (EOI) PaaS solution
- Business Intelligence including Company Business Analytics and Company Business Analytics Execution Server
Client profile of preference:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems/Information Technology or current professional membership of a relevant internationally recognised body such as the British Computer Society (BCS) is mandatory
- At least 2 years working experience in Microsoft Azure SQL Database (PaaS) is essential
- At least 2 years working experience in deploying PaaS solutions in Microsoft Azure and experience with Azure multi-tenant applications is essential
- Strong time management skills
- Effective use of the English language (written and verbal) including subtleties that avoid misunderstanding
- A professional manner in all communication
- The ability to follow published procedures and guidelines as well as knowing how to prioritize according to the soft values that professional customer support delivery requires
- Personal accountability and the ability to take, and stand up for, own decisions
- Personal integrity and the ability to gain the trust of colleagues and customers alike
- Personal attributes are of discipline, flexibility, pragmatism, honesty, pro-activeness, reliability, stress resistance, structured approach, trustworthiness and discretion
