JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT

Manages a team of technically skilled employees with responsibility for identifying technical solutions to implement pricing agreements in different FedEx systems, providing Sales end users with guidance on technical pricing questions (EUPrices support desk) and ensuring customer pricing agreements are correctly reflecting the commercial conversations, agreed discount levels or net rates and result in accurately rated transactions.
Identifies business requirements for ongoing pricing system development work and ensures steady turnaround times on pricing requests.
Manages the team workload and initiates a set of KPI's to track the team's performance.
Builds a training roadmap for the specialised roles within the team & supports talent management initiatives.

Key accountability 1 :
People & Performance Management: Recruits, develops, motivates and manages the team performance, and ensures that team members have the competencies, capabilities and tools to consistently deliver on individual and team objectives. Ensures effective succession planning within team. Ensures the team has the capability to deliver robust and cost effective pricing implementation solutions that meet the immediate and longer-term needs of the business and its internal and external customers.

Key accountability 2 :
Developing Pricing Implementation Systems: Leads and co-ordinates the team in developing effective pricing implementation procresses and solutions, taking into consideration the customer requirements and agreements. Identifies gaps & defects in pricing systems and initiates/participates in global pricing system improvement or replacement projects.

Key accountability 3 :
Pricing Implementation: Consolidates needs for intervention in and/or adjustment of automated pricing implementations and ensures correct & timely loading of pricing agreements in the relevant corporate or regional pricing systems. Specific focus on the complex pricing and surcharges requirements from Global contracts/customers, GSP pricing implementation, Special Rate Development and special service pricing (eg IPD, Spot).

Strategy Development: Identifies recurring customer/Sales/Pricing team needs that can not be catered for using standard pricing implementation approaches, and assesses the needs/merits of creating alternative solutions. Key accountability

Key accountability 5 :
Sales Support: Evaluates multiple rate work requests for existing business, together with requests from Sales to support the closure/implementation of new business/tariffs. Sets clear performance priorities, objectives, standards & measures for each team that supports the achievement of the required results. Directs the teams to provide process improvements, with responsibility of managing the scope, time, cost, quality of the project, collaborating with other responsible functional groups, including policies, procedures, and performance standards in order to ensure an efficient, effective, timely and successful delivery of pricing implemention process to the satisfaction of internal and external customers.

Key accountability 6:
Research & Analysis: Ensures effective tools/methods are consistently used to track, measure & report and assist in analysing historical information to identify relationships, enabling to forecast trends in pricing request for resource planning.

Key accountability 7:
Quality Focus: Provides leadership and vision to ensure quality excellence in pricing implementation & utilizes QDM and other structural frameworks to address the longer term quality needs of the Customer, and the Sales & Pricing organizations. Implements quality measures & tools to ensure correct pricing implementation & supports the team in identifying & exploring quality improvement opportunities.

Very good Commercially astute with the ability to determine the impact of revenue and service opportunities on FedEx and the Customer’s business.
