Manager CEE & MEMA Event Marketing

Location: Warsaw

Position drives the definition and execution of Events in the CEE and MEMA region for customer facing marketing events, creates and maintains an event management infrastructure and related processes and manages as staff of event management professionals in the region.
Position reports to the Director of Events in EMEA.

Background
The HP EMEA Events Marketing team focuses on creating awareness, creating demand and building loyalty for HP products and solutions with a focus on Enterprise marketing segments.
Most important business units are ESSN, SW, TS, ES and Information Management.
Customer facing events is the single most important way to reach and influence enterprise customers.

Responsibilities
A successful event manager needs to act as a consultant to the business for the most appropriate event set up, and manage events to successful execution optimizing HP business impact.

In order to do so the manager of the events team gives advice on the overall event footprint, and helps to prioritize events ensuring the mix of events is aligned to business and marketing strategy.

The positions responsibility includes the management and consulting on a number of high profile and very visible region or local events, typically with customer and partner participation at senior level up to CIO level and senior HP management attendance. Positive customer experience and business creation are the key metrics.

The scope of work for the position covers all of CEE and MEMA both for regional events in that area as well as local country events. That means that the position will need to produce events in her/his or adjacent local countries as well as support or produce CEE or MEMA wide events. A number of countries will be in the direct responsibility of the position; other countries will be supported by a staff of event managers that report into the position.

The manager needs to maintain, adopt or develop an infrastructure of event management processes, need to stay in touch with the business and sales stakeholders on marketing priorities and manage and maintain a network of supporting agencies to ensure highest quality standards, competitive pricing and HP brand alignment.

Events are part of the overall marketing mix and as such need to be planned (upfront objectives) and assessed as part of the overall CLSM (closed loop sales and marketing) process.
The responsibility of the position includes knowing these processes and ensuring events are executed and measured within the CLSM framework. The accountability of the ROI of the event resides with a (BU/Solutions) Campaign Manager.

Goals
1. Contribute to the prioritisation and selection of the event mix:

a) by developing and maintaining relationship to relevant local stakeholders (BU, Sales)

b) by being up to date with events formats, trends, strategy and opportunities

c) by recommending an overall events mix (within a broader marketing mix and connections to it)

that makes sense

2. Execute agreed (governance) events within time, budget, brand and quality standards following the

event task list and the agreed role & responsibility model

3. Maintain a working and functioning agency network and support rationalization efforts (where

appropriate)

4. Support the flexibility model supporting events across country boundaries and EMEA wide events

as appropriate

5. Functional event expertise

a) Adopt minimum one functional event expertise area as champion for the entire EMEA team.

b) Develop and document the functional event expertise area and ensure the broader event audience

is enabled on it and up - to - date.

6. Be an active member of the EMEA event management staff to continuously improve knowledge and

execution capabilities of the team

7. Manage and develop a team of event professionals in CEE / MEMA to the goals above

Requirements

Qualifications
BA or MS in Business or Marketing
Working experience as Marketing professional (8 years minimum) ideally with very strong customer targeting and communication focus
Events management knowledge and expertise (3 years+)
Team management experience
Experience with CLSM processes

Superior project management incorporating cross function and cross country work
Budget management skills
Process development and deployment skills
Analytical skills and expertise in structuring , developing and delivering business level presentations based on HP internal and external data
