LMS Consultant

Location: Warsaw

The Consultant-Learning Systems, Data and Operations will be the primary subject matter expert and point of contact for the enterprise Learning Management System (LMS) and associated data and technical integrations. He/she wil be responsible to ensure the successful implementation of regular patches, annual upgrades and ongoing issue resolution related to this technology, while representing the various learning and development business needs and requirements, including but not limited to supporting personnel qualification per Elanco Global Quality Standard EGQS-A-005 and enterprise GxP requirements. A key element of the role will be ensuring that Learning Management System (LMS) configurations and associated processes meet functional and enterprise curriculum needs and ensuring critical audit readiness of learning data.

 

Key Objectives/Deliverables

Technology Stewardship: Accountable for oversight of the enterprise wide Learning Management System

1. Data/Technology Stewardship

The position will primarily be accountable for the following:

  • Managing learning system data removals and any other data modifications
  • Ensuring data quality by monitoring learning data for inconsistencies/errors, etc.; work with appropriate GLS team members to design remediation for incorrect data and improvement actions to prevent future data issues
  • Stay abreast of LMS updates and recommend feature/reports enhancements through appropriate change management channels
  • Supporting ongoing system configuration and change requests, including testing support activities in Quality Center
  • Supporting ongoing releases of learning technology, including testing support activities in Quality Center

2. LMS Release Management

  • Primary EGLS point of contact for all LMS releases and patches, including annual Validated SaaS/BizX platform upgrades; work with Elanco IT, system administrators, testing and validation resources to ensure successful system upgrades
  • Coordinate system testing as needed for patches, upgrades and configuration changes; work with outsourced test leads and GLS testers to ensure test plans are appropriate for the nature and risk of the change, and that test scripts are written, approved and executed in a timely manner
  • Ensure appropriate review of annual Saas/BizX upgrade functionality; determine method to track and review previously unimplemented functionality
  • Provide inputs into patch/release/fix communications

3. System Configuration and Functionality

  • Serve as primary subject matter expert for LMS configuration and functionality; provide input into updates/changes for Solution Design Document (system configuration validation document)
  • Consult with others in GLS regarding issues related to functionality and business needs
  • Ensure system configuration meets critical GxP and audit/inspection requirements; proactively seek out input from GLS functional aligned team members and where appropriate functional L&D to determine changing business requriements
  • Utilizing SuccessFactors and external resources, stay abreast of landscape of LMS products and specific SuccessFactors system functionality.

4. System Change Management

  • Ensure efficient and well document change control processes for Learning platform technologies
  • See “Release Manangement” section for additional change management realted responsibilities, such as coordination of system testing

5. Data and System Issue Monitoring, Investigation & Resolution

  • Ensure consistency & quality of data housed in LMS
  • Provide support for investigations into data and system related issues; engage with Elanco IT for LMS related support cases and needed system configuration changes to support issues resolution
  • Consult with appropriate parties regarding data migrations; as needed coordinate data migration work
  • While serving as ‘Issue Coordinator” in the GLS Issue Support Process, ensure that timely and accurate information regarding reported issues with learning systems and data is documented and that barriers to resolution are identified and escalated
  • As needed, troubleshoot data, process and technology issues raised as part of ongoing day-to-day operations

6. Learning Platform and Integrations

  • Understand full learning systems platform and integrations between systems; be able to consult and advise related to full learning platform, as needed.
  • Ensure processes appropriately integrate the multiple business tools and data sets that must be leveraged to support learning (SAP, VEEVA QDocs, etc)

7. LMS Reporting

  • Determine and monitor configuration of LMS and supplier-provided reports including reporting options available to learners, supervisors, learning & development personnel and system administrators
  • Interpret reporting capabilities to meet audit needs; provide tools and guidance on best practices and reports to use for audit response

 

Basic Requirements:

  • 3-5 years experience with learning & development data/information & related business processes and systems
  • 3-5 years direct experience with LMS technology , preferably SuccessFactors LMS
  • Relevant experience in data stewardship and a learning system management mindeset
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority
  • L&D system management mindset and approach
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex processes/systems
  • Demonstrated ability to work globally
  • Demonstrated ability to design and improve processes
  • Fluent in English both spoken and written
