Currently, we are looking for a Lead Business Analyst who will carry out a project for our Client - one of the largest banking and financial services organizations in the world, providing a comprehensive range of financial services to around 60 million customers.
Main tasks
- Translating business requirements into more technical, functional specifications / requirements; clearly and accurately describing the essential technical requirements needed to meet business requirements.
- Analysing and capturing functional & non-functional specification / requirements for Finance and/or Product Control’s long-term (strategic) and short-term projects.
- Working closely with the Business, Change Management and System Developers to understand and clarify business / data requirements in order to define functional and non-functional requirements / specification as well as business rules for Finance systems, e.g. P&L / Balance Sheet reporting, Accounting, sub ledger and Regulatory Reporting
- Analysing and capturing business processes, systems, data and data flows between systems.
- Understanding the Finance business process, systems, and data flows from Front to Back.
- Developing proof-of-concept or prototypes to help crystallise business rules, processes and functions
- Seeking opportunities to make the Finance’s business processes more effective and efficient across business lines and regions
- Seeking opportunities to make Finance system components / application functions more consistent, standardised and reusable ultimately encouraging more consistent business processes
- Reviewing and manipulating trade and market data to understand the variety of scenarios that need to be catered for and prepare test packs
- Providing input to test plans and testing strategies
- Providing input to design discussions and project planning meetings
- Understanding the direction of Finance’s strategic architecture and seek opportunities to promote and accelerate it
Requirements
- Disciplined and methodical approach to analysis with a software engineering or computer science background (either at degree level or working for a software company)
- Experience of analysis techniques / methodology
- Good understanding of the Project Lifecycle
- Experience of Product Control / Financial Control processes (>2 Years)
- Experience in translating business requirements; capturing, analysing and documenting functional & non-functional specifications / requirements (>2 years)
- Broad knowledge of financial instruments / products; such as fungibles (e.g. bonds) and non-fungibles (e.g. derivatives) across interest rate, fx, credit and/or equity businesses
- Experience working within large/strategic and small/tactical projects (>3 years)
- Experience in prototyping or rapid application development or iterative development (>1 year)
- Understanding of Product Control, Financial Control and/or Regulatory processes and workflow (>2 years)
- Understanding of the Change Management process, Project Lifecycle, analysis techniques / methodology (>2 years)
- Experience in MS Access, Excel & Oracle or Sybase or SQL Server SQL (>1 year)
