We are working as a recruitment provider searching on our Client's behalf for a person in the following role:
Java Team Leader
Location: Kraków
As a Java Team Leader you will lead the new Krakow-based team of six - IT Team, responsible for the development and support of collateral management platform. Local team collaborates closely with teams in London, Poznan and Pune.
The Platform is critical for the company from the regulatory standpoint. It allows the team to perform the daily margining functions across thousands of clients globally and to provide data & analytics to optimize its usage.
Our teams are contributing in a long-term plan to replace current monolith architecture with the microservices-based one. These microservices interact with central platform running a distributed cache using Oracle Coherence with an underlying Oracle RDBMS Operational Data Store (ODS). The user interface is being built with HTML 5/JavaScript & the platform integrates with other systems in & outside the company using a combination of MQ, File, Web Service and REST interfaces.
Key Accountabilities:
Guide developers to design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code
Improve development team velocity and quality
Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
Support the platform: incident resolution, monitoring, problem management
Develop automated tooling to improve support functions
Adopt DevOps and Agile principles
Ensure test-driven development for team
Tools / Methodologies we're using:

Testing tools/protocols – Selenium, Junit, Cucumber, AssertJ, Hamcrest, Serenity
Application monitoring tools – Splunk, Grafana, Micrometer.io, Geneos

Requirements:
8+ years of Java development experience, including proven experience in team leading
Experience in Agile and/or DevOps environment
Experience or interest in investment banking domain
Designed, analysed, developed and implemented new integration and projects from conception to completion
Ability to translate business requirements and objectives into technical applications and solutions
Ability to provide innovative solutions to complex business problems
Experience in designing and developing Spring applications using Spring Boot, Cloud, Maven, JDBC
Knowledge of Relational Databases, e.g. Oracle
Experience with TDD & BDD, using JUnit, AssertJ, Hamcrest
Excellent communication skills
Fluency in English
