Java Software Engineer – Team Leader

In this role you will be responsible for developing accurate, efficient and easy to maintain software applications for Bank. The deliverables should be well tested, accompanied with good documentation, according to specification and set standards, and completed within the allocated timeline. As a part of this role you will also be responsible for a group of developers where you will support them with your knowledge and experience.
Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Leading development for large/complex projects to agreed timescales and standards.
- Applying your technical experience in the development of high quality applications/systems as per the agreed requirements. Delivering on time and to group and local standards.
- Designing and documenting systems in accordance with requirements.
- Defining and governing quality standards. Maintaining expert knowledge in required technology area across multiple platforms.
- Building strong decision-making and problem solving skills within the required technology area across multiple platforms.
- Leading a team of developers. Ensuring regular 1-2-1 meetings and appraisals are held with staff and the team’s development, performance and training needs are being both meet and constantly reviewed.
Requirements:
- Extensive knowledege JAVA/J2EE and Digital Technologies
- Team leader experience
- Stakeholder management experience
- Previous knowledge of the following technologies:Maven, Spring, Jenkins
- Following experience will be a plus: AWS, PCF, MuleSoft, MongoDB, Cloud Computing Services
- Understanding of the development and testing principles, processes and methodologies (TTD, Agile)
- An understanding of distributed revision control systems and platforms (GIT/SVN)
- Innovative approach to solving complex problems with an excelent level of attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure,
- Very good analytical skills,
- Very good command of English,
- A high level of motivation, quick to learn and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work with team members in different timezones
