Java Senior Software Engineer
Krakow
The purpose of the job is writing software/automated tests, discussing specifications with the business in Agile environment and providing 3rd line support when necessary.
The team works on a critical investment banking application where the organization expects the changes requested by the users to be delivered regularly. Very strong emphasis on quality with BDD/TDD and continuous integration already put in place.
Main Duties:
- Analyze and propose solutions based on business requirements,
- Efficiently translate these requirements into working software,
- Amend and produce specifications/documentation as required,
- Investigate live system faults, diagnose problems, propose and provide solutions,
- Complete projects in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- University or Technical College graduate (preferable in IT) followed by at least 3 years of programming experience,
- Good knowledge of or working experience with:
- Java 8,
- Databases (SQL Server)
- Spring Framework
- Java ORM frameworks (Hibernate, Ibatis)
- Clean Code Principles, Java Design patterns.
- BDD/TDD, Continuous Integration,
- Web UI development and testing,
- Good understanding of English is essential,
- Business Intelligence reporting tools (SAP BO) will be an advantage,
- Experience in Agile type methodologies will be an advantage,
- Prior working experience in a bank or a financial institution will be an advantage but not a must,
- Interest in Future markets / derivatives knowledge is desirable
- Good interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work in changeable environment,
