Job description:

The Infrastructure Platform Engineering Project Manager (PM) is part of a global team composed of architects, system engineers, analysts and project managers responsible for strategy, architecture and engineering of our Client’s computing infrastructure. Over the next years, there are several strategic efforts in execution such as 2 data center migrations, optimizing and consolidating infrastructure through technology refresh and server virtualization, introducing and leveraging advance storage management, performance and data classification technologies, integrating tools and working towards an optimized, then automated service oriented and ultimately a pooled and adaptive infrastructure. The PM will work very closely with engineers, architects and other infrastructure teams, including the Communication Infrastructure, Global Information Security, Global Operations and application development teams in project delivery of these initiatives.


Primary Job Functions
• Identifies and partners with appropriate resources and departments to define project scope, charter, requirements, activities/tasks, schedules and communication plans while working with internal business and technology stakeholders

• Identifies & manages risks, resolves technology related issues in timely manner and understands when and how to escalate risks and issues when they arrive
• Assembles and manages a matrixed team of engineers, application developers, database administrators, operations and field systems support subject matter experts on various types of projects from minor upgrades, to major technology changes and adoption such as but not limited to, server virtualization, collaboration technologies, technology refresh and new operating systems
• Develops and coordinates the activities of the team to meet project deliverables by continually pushing ahead on projects, keeping resources focused and creating a culture of ownership and accountability
• Develops budget and closely monitors project spend to ensure budget remains on track. Supports program-level budgeting. Tracks program costs (capital and expense) levels in support of expense variance review and forecasting.
• Provides directional oversight associated with definition and usage of all infrastructure project management performance measurement tools
• Prepares project documentation, business case and cost benefit analysis
• Ensures projects is accountable for a successful transition to operational and support teams
• Provides weekly project status to project team, management and business units as applicable, highlighting issues, scope and budget changes and progress
• Presents project accomplishments, risks and issues to senior level management and steering committees as needed
• Identifies and pursues opportunities to build strategic relationships with stakeholders inside and outside the organization; uses interpersonal styles and communication to gain acceptance from stakeholders and manage interdependencies and conflict to ensure project execution.
• Fosters collaboration among team members and across teams to address issues and discover solutions

Wymagania

Requirements

• Candidate must have proven track record in performing in the responsibilities outlined above, experience in working within a global and distributed team, ability to energize, motivate and influence project teams to consistently produce superior results
• Experience handling multiple deliverables, developing strong interdepartmental relationships, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.

Other:
• Minimum of 4 years in Project Management experience preferably in managing infrastructure projects, e.g. projects specifically implementing Data, Voice, Video, Server, Storage, Backup systems, Desktop, Handheld, or Security technologies
• PMI Certification
• A Bachelor’s degree in business or information technology related fields
• Fluent English
