THE COMPANY

Our client is a professional Food organization, based in Germany.

They are a global company that manufactures a wide range of bakery products and ingredients for in-store and foodservice markets as well as artisan and industrial bakeries.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

As Interim Product Manager you will be responsible to drive the company’s growth and profits by excellent understanding of the competitive environment and its portfolio for the relevant region per sub-category and strong project leadership incl. “otif” project delivery. The Product Manager is the prime mover for leading cross functional project teams through the new product development process to ensure projects are delivered on time and customer expectations are met. The PM provides a deep understanding of product characteristics and emerging consumer and competitive trends in the evaluation of new opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, develop and prepare the launch of new concept/products, in line with commercial calendar and strategy (in EU under guidance of PGM)

Lead cross functional project team through new product development process and ensures adherence to deadlines/kpis (PL = Creates and executes project work plans, identifies resources needed and assigns responsibilities)

Prepare prize settings/definitions within to achieve growth & profitability targets

Create SKUs and approve products in line with actual customer & consumer understanding interfacing with Channel marketing

Efficiently utilize the annual MDC budget (in EU in alignment with PGM/CML), request relevant (local) market research as well as provide/assure efficient execution of communication material incl. clear value proposition incooperation with category marketing manager and central marketing

Conduct post mortem analysis for key projects to identify & communicate successful/unsuccessful project elements

Know & manage product portfolio (fix core assortment, de-complexity, etc.)

Propose actions to solve any deviations when they occur and review forecast

In line with category priorities build knowing and understanding of market dynamics (consumer/customer/competition), provide fact based market information (together with Channel and central marketing) and foster new
opportunities for future profitable growth

Actively contribute within the category team and give structured (local in EU) input to development of category strategies, NPD plans etc.

Communicate performance report cards/ key metrics for new products and marketing programs.

Assist with customer calls and trade shows as needed

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree+ in business or marketing, MBA a plus
• 3+ years’ experience in the B2B or B2C food marketing regarding product portfolio management, marketing mix, understanding of consumer & customer intelligence etc.
• Structured mindset in order to characterize the playing field of product, customer, consumer and competitors
• Exceptional project management skills
• Experience in engaging and motivating a small cross functional team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills incl. Fluent written and spoken English
• Understanding of basic revenue and pricing models, profit and loss
• Industry knowledge a plus.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
