THE COMPANY

Our client is a professional Food organization, based in Zeeland Netherlands.

This company is a dynamic international brand in the industry shipping to over 100 countries worldwide and growing rapidly.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

In this role you will be responsible for all international reefer shipments from invoice to handling freight documentation and the negotiation of terms and conditions. You will develop new transport lanes and concepts for refrigerated containers shipped over sea outside the EU. Part of the position is also contract and relationship management with transporters and ship owners besides assuring freight documentation. Moreover, you will be responsible for providing logistics customers with creative shipping solutions and services according to the agreed service levels.

I am looking for an interim consultant for this project which will be for approximately 6 months.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Contract and relation management
- Member of the Category Team Logistics Deep- and Short-Sea.
- Negotiate and conclude contracts within the procurement policy and regulations for short/deep sea freight, pre-carriage and road transport to specified countries outside EU.
- Ensure guaranteed availability of containers, capacity on Carriers and Excellent Service with first class Ship Owners.
- Developing and implementing Customer solutions and the lanes to new markets.
- Accountable for operational execution of shipments to defined EMEA markets and in alignment with International for other global markets.
- Pre-calculation and post cost analysis of transport-costs and -coverage on sales contracts.
- Assess and process transport requests with relation to accuracy, complete missing data and/or documents (customs clearance instructions, country-specific certificates and documents)
- Translate applicable rules into practice for especially our Sales and Customer Service department
- Act as Counsel/expert for Legal Counsel in the field of transport law, customs and related permits and documents
- Conduct consultation and discuss/lobby for initiatives arise with service providers or public authorities in the field of transport

REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor or Master in a related field (preferably logistics or supply chain)
- Proven experience with the import and export of fresh food products
- Experience within procurement of containers
- Market knowledge Dutch shipping companies and contacts
- Fluent in Dutch and English (Written and Verbal)
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Creativity and fresh ideas to improve company operations
