The organisation is a large distribution company within the food industry with various terminals in the harbour of Antwerp. The company is a subsidiary of one of the largest commodity (both food and non-food) houses in the world.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
As EHS Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing all EHS programs within the company. You will have to balance the wishes of the parent company with the situation on the floor and adapt as necessary, which requires strong communicative skills for operational work on the floor with blue collars as both communicating with Sr. Management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and maintain awareness of EHS in the organisation while balancing this with the associated costs
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and applicable permits.
- Develop, implement and monitor EHS policies and programs, including staff trainings and reviews.
- Conduct audits and safety inspection rounds.
- Write reports and advise management on EHS issues
REQUIREMENTS
- A relevant Bachelor's Degree
- Certificate Preventieadviseur niveau 2 or similar
- At least 3 years of experience with EHS
- Fluency in Dutch and English.
- Strong communicative skills
- Experience in the food industry and/or in a distribution organisation is a plus
