ROLE DESCRIPTION
As Head Breeder you are in charge for managing the companies Breeding department, and obligated to report directly to the higher management.
You will be leading and developing the Breeding programs, build on innovation and planning. While doing this it is of utmost importance to align the quality accordingly. You will also continue to accelerate processes on the breeding programs and enhance the team performances. This will exist out of development of new species, future trend assessments and disease prevention research.
Furthermore, you will assess current breeding programs. Doing so in order to enable the work environment to advance in operations, work performance and process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform your role most efficient you will need to showcase experience and knowledge in the following areas:
• Enhance and innovate existing and new breeding activities
• Manage the breeding specialist and assistant breeders
• Focus on strategic breeding programs for future end user needs
• Ensure alignment between breeding programs and Commercial/Business implementations
REQUIREMENTS
• PhD in Agricultural related field
• Between 5-10 years of experience in the Crops Sciences as Breeder professional including managerial experience
• Strong breeding program and research knowledge
• Strong writing and speaking skills in Dutch and English
• Hands-on mentality to anticipate to the daily operations
• A natural team leader
