GL Accountant (specialist and senior role)

Responsibilities:
- Preparing monthly general ledger account reconciliations as assigned, including intercompany accounts
- Analyzing P&L and Balance Sheet for posting errors, adequate accruals and the correct application of accounting rules
- Assisting with the preparation of data for tax returns
- Supporting payroll accounting
- Preparing Bank reconciliations
- Providing sufficient and timely accrual information to the local finance
- Running Month End Close Reports
- Loading data to the corporate reporting systems
- Calculating and reporting on variances - budget vs. actual
- Acting as first line contact and support to any finance related queries
- Application of corporate policies and procedures as well as statutory and SOX requirements
- Assisting with the annual audit process
- Providing support for country finance teams in special projects
Requirements:
- Fluent spoken & written English is a must, any other European language will be an advantage
- Sound understanding of accounting principles is a must (US GAAP preferred)
- Min. 2 years accounting experience
- Master degree in Accounting or Finance
- Good MS Excel skills
- Ability to work to a high level of accuracy and consistency
- Ability to work within tight operational deadlines and priorities
- Good organizational skills and problem solving skills
- Analytical skills
- Cooperation skills oriented on result and customer needs
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft or other ERP package is an advantage
