Scope of the Role
  • Keep up to date all fuel data (contract, operational and reference) in the relevant systems required in the OpCo or GBS.
  • Produce volume demand forecast by station for the purpose of processing future tenders, supply chain management and for supporting BP and FP activity.
  • Line supplier performance management (SPM). Measure supplier performance. Follow up on supplier performance (delays, overfuelling and discrepancies etc ), incidents and issues to ensure continuous improvement. Planning and executing issue resolution activities.
  • Reconcile fuel-related invoices for complex self-supply chains. Act as point of escalation for PTP on wider invoicing queries.
  • Management of worldwide self–supply logistics and inventory management. Ensure compliance with regulations eg Compulsory Stocking Obligations.
  • Nominate supply volumes on a monthly basis to ensure continuity of supply at minimum cost. Includes delivering in-tank arbitrage opportunities.
  • Ensure provision of price data and optimum tankering decisions to OpCo Flight Operations to minimise cost.
  • Manage fuel supply disruption. Work with OpCo stakeholders to minimise operational disruption following any fuel supply disruption.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors. Manage documentation for audit purposes including tax authorities.
  • Develop and issue Group fuel business monthly report.
  • Act as a key point of contact for Finance for the purpose of the monthly, quarterly and annual close. Fuel reporting on spend and price to OpCo stakeholders. Forecasting actuals against FP for audit & control purposes.
  • Line manage commercial relationship with key suppliers.

Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree and/or ability to demonstrate strong knowledge of working in international procurement environment
  • Knowledge of the airline and wider aviation industry and understanding of fuel-related operations
  • Experience of working in an environment of change involving people, process, policy and technology
    • Strong business and financial acumen with ability to evaluate, analyse and solve problems
    • Ability to operate effectively in an environment with tight deadlines and finite resource
    • Commitment to service excellence and process improvement
      • Operational performance to agreed measures
      • Strong stakeholder management across the dedicated Operating Company.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to distil complex technical information in a clear simple messages
  • Fluency in English. Fluency in Spanish if supporting Spain-based Operating Companies.
  • Flexibility in terms of the base location setup including ability to travel between Group locations as per business requirements.
