Role: Eastern Europe Credit Manager

Responsibility: Reporting directly to the Regional Credit Manager Manager and business partnering the Commercial team to coordinate all credit requirements for Eastern Europe (PL, HU, CZ, TR…. exact area will evolve) core responsibilities are:
  • Optimisation of credit risk to create superior (risk adjusted) returns
  • Support the collection of accounts receivable with direct responsibility to resolve hard to collect or bad debt cases as and when they occur.
  • Decision rights for the release of hold trucks for Iberia lead financial customers
  • Routine communication on credit risk exposure and AR based analytics
  • Support ad hoc regional and global credit initiatives

This will involve the following core expectations:
  • Act as a value added business partner for credit forming a strong partnership with the commercial team. Value needs to be created through the absorption of profitable risk to create superior (risk adjusted) returns as aligned with shareholders risk appetite.
  • Application of Guardian’s risk optimisation framework to appropriately identify, investigate (understand) and communicate:
    • Customers risk profile - where necessary using standard financial model + visits
    • Customer risk adjusted return - marginal analysis
    • Take Bet criteria
  • Support effective collection activity directly intervening and resolving hard to collect customers and bad debt customers as and when they occur. ( partnering with outside sales as support to OTC team)
  • Minimise the number of held trucks and efficient and timely release of those that are held. Decision rights to release these trucks due to an overdue payment or over credit limit as per Credit guidelines and policy
  • Communication to commercial, finance and other relevant leadership stakeholders. This will include at a minimum:
    • Bet criteria for high risk bets taken
    • Commercial meeting support e.g. cyclical sales meetings
    • Monthly report with agreed KPI’s
    • Cyclical bad debt analysis
    • Report for bad debt customers (situation and actions)
  • Support ad hoc regional and global credit initiatives
