Data Architect in Data Architecture

Currently, we are looking for a Consultant who will carry out a project for our Client - one of the largest banking and financial services organizations in the world, providing a comprehensive range of financial services to around 60 million customers.

You will be part of global projects from the Commercial Banking business in Commercial Banking Architecture team, in support of IT software delivery.

Main tasks:

• Providing thought leadership, strategic thinking and architectural direction on data projects such as MDM, Data Analytics, Data Quality etc
• Implementing the future state architecture visions for projects from the commercial banking area
• Performing Data related design activities on projects e.g. Conceptual / Logical Data Models, Data Lineage, Metadata Management, Reference Data Management, Data Warehousing, Master Data Management and Data Quality Solutions
• Working closely with the engineering teams and other stakeholders to meet the projects requirements aligned with Group standards, IT and business strategy
• Providing governance on Data Architecture, design and implementation of standards and target operating models for IT activities
• Preparing clear solution options and providing analysis on benefits/challenges
• Providing expertise on new technologies and how they may be applied in pragmatic ways, to deliver commercially sound and innovative ways of addressing new and existing business challenges
• Identifying operational and delivery risks
• Ensuring that architecture results are compliant with the stated requirements, approved technologies, best practices and Group strategies

Requirements:

• Experience working in relevant market/context, i.e. Enterprise and Solution Architecture, Data Management, preferably in a global organisation
• A strong knowledge of: Master Data Management, Data Quality, Analytics, Metadata Management, Reference Data, Document Management, Management Information Systems
• A general knowledge of the Big Data technology and practices
• Experience of working with technologies such as: Oracle, Big Data (Hadoop, HBase, Hive), Teradata, IBM MDM, Data Stage, Cognos, QlikView
• A strong understanding of Traditional Data Warehousing approaches and technologies
• A strong interpersonal, communication and presentation with good command of written and spoken English
• Able to work with multiple stakeholders geographically dispersed across multiple teams
• Able to organise and prioritise tasks in order to deliver across multiple work-streams
• Experience of working with a range of stakeholders from within IT and Business areas
• Able to ensure Data Architectural integrity across differing types of initiatives within a rapidly evolving environment

Additional skills:

• Experience of working with Agile methodologies and understanding the way they can work effectively within Enterprise Data Architectural frameworks
• A general knowledge of the Operating Systems and Resource/Memory Management
• Experience working in Financial Services, especially Banking will be an advantage
