JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Customer Solutions Analyst performs diverse business and market research and analysis that support the Global Account Managers / Worldwide Sales function in achieving the business strategy and goals for a number of FedEx’s largest and Worldwide accounts. It includes supporting the development of actions that will enhance results and increase customer loyalty and satisfaction, revenue and profitability across the company.

JOB SIZE/DIMENSIONS:

  • Supports Global/GAM/WW sales team based in multiple countries.
  • Supports the RFQ and pricing process with financial analysis.
  • Supports sales in selling based on advanced financial selling model, including supporting sales training team.
  • Responsible for developing own network of contacts within both FedEx and Customer organizations.
  • Supports projects that involve Worldwide Sales, analysts from other divisions, including MD’s projects
  • Performs analysis and reporting of accounts in the GAM/ Global/WW Sales portfolio.
  • Supports global contract monitoring & account data management

KEY RESULT AREAS/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Supporting Revenue Generation

Performs analysis of revenue/yield and profitability within designated Global Accounts. Includes identification of trends within and across accounts and industries, analysis across OPCOs and Regions. Supports cost improvement, value add and revenue generating opportunities for Supply Chain re-design on behalf of FedEx and the customer together with potential problem areas and contributes to recommend relevant actions to management. Uses Value Quantification tools. Supports Sales Teams with Revenue GAP Analysis on quarterly base. Develops professional standards of presentation and consultation to support sales in the field on request of management.

2. Business Planning

Supports the development of the revenue plans for major global accounts that encompasses multiple critical business factors (strategic goals, resource constraints, external market conditions & drivers etc).Contributes to revenue projections to support business cases (expansion, customised solutions etc).

3. Reporting

Contributes to the development of meaningful reports to support the GAM / Global Sales programs in collaboration with the US based Sales Reporting team. Extracts ad-hoc reports from the sales reporting data hub as part of the on-going effort to monitor and analyze account activity/performance.

4. Support RFQ & Contract Preparation

Supports the timely collation and preparation of information critical to the development of accurate and comprehensive pricing to support RFQ or complex pricing programs. Also supports Account Contracts or Proposals. Involves liaising with Legal, Finance, Ops etc.

5. External Research

Keeps abreast of trends and major developments in the industry sectors of the Accounts in the GAM/ Global Sales portfolio and competitor knowledge in multiple markets. Records information and intelligence in a systematic and structured way so that it can be shared with other Sales teams on a worldwide basis. Identifies industry trends that may impact accounts and FedEx’s management of them.

6. Financial & Technical Analysis

Performs financial and technical analysis of accounts and provides an interpretation of the tactical adjustments required, or highlights the strategic implications explanations. Both on new opportunities, RFQ response and complex pricing support.

7. Information Management

Contributes to the development of tools (databases etc) that enable account information, market intelligence etc. to be stored, secured, tracked, shared and retrieved in an effective and systematic way. Participates in the development of new/enhanced corporate information systems by making specific recommendations on requirements/opportunities within the GAM and Global Sales Team.

8. Training & Education

Works with GAM / Global Sales to identify the training needs of either sales team members or personnel within GAM / Global Sales Accounts, providing feedback to management as appropriate. Co-ordinates delivery of the solutions including presentations and teaching the Global Sales Team

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in Marketing or a quantitative discipline
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Presentation skills with experience of giving formal presentations to senior management audiences
  • Persuasion and influencing skills with the ability to gain commitment to complex concepts/opportunities
  • Interpersonal skills with experience of building an effective network of contacts at different levels in an organization
  • Good understanding of the macro business environment (economic, competitor, market dynamics etc) and a relevant industry sectors
  • Experience of operating effectively in a complex (and international) business environment with a good understanding of how business protocol differs when dealing with people of diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Experience in the design, development or implementation of advanced business models for evaluating complex unstructured business problems
  • Good knowledge of Sales and Marketing concepts, methodologies and tools.
  • Good commercial judgment with experience of providing commercially focused business recommendations
  • Good planning and organizational skills with experience of planning and prioritizing multiple workload/actions
  • Experience of leading cross functional or regional/divisional projects
  • (Formal project management trained / good knowledge of project management tools)
  • Good conceptual thinking ability with experience of applying and explaining business concepts
  • Good analytical skills with experience of performing complex qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Experience of interpreting volumes of complex data and developing logical conclusions before structuring specific recommendations
  • Knowledge of quality concepts with experience of using quality tools in all projects
  • PC literate including good MS Office skills and advanced use of Business Analysis applications
  • Good knowledge of the internet environment
  • Good understanding of the capabilities of relevant corporate computer systems and data processes with experience of influencing their development
