Credit Controller
Overview :
To perform effective and professional credit control for the company group according to and complaint to Policies, procedures and processes in place
Key Activities:
- Works with a minimum of supervision on collection of overdue account
- Has regular customer contact by phone, fax and email
- Handles a ledger as part of a credit control team
- Pro-actively support the Cash Forecast Team providing accurate forecast against the ledger
- Responsible for supporting cash allocation Team, chasing customers in order to obtain the remittance advices
- Maintain accurate and up to date customers details and account records
- Uses initiative and imagination to achieve targeted results, while promoting customers goodwill
- Makes adjustment, handles queries and resolves problems within company guidelines and policy
- Anticipates developments and identifies accounts that will require special attention
- Undertakes complex reconciliations and prepare documentation for legal actions
- Maintains accurate individual measurement and performance statistics
- Obtain sufficient information to help the Credit Manager to assess the credit worthiness of existing customers
- Works within deadlines providing agreed reports to the Credit Manager, Financial Controller and BU
- Able to understand and meet JSOX and Auditing requirements
Technical skills:
- Able to demonstrate experience within Credit Control
- Experience of providing credit control to organization with a turnover in excess of £100m
- Computer literate with a good understanding of Word and Excel (intermediate)
- Familiar with at least one between Oracle or SAP
- Excellent communication skills are essential
- Fluent in English
Qualification / Knowledge / Experience required
- Ideally with Shared Service Centre experience
- Lean model experience / awareness
- Knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures
- A Credit Control/Credit Management qualification would be a plus
