Commodity Manager - Steel
Our Client is an acknowledged international production company, a world leader in its branch. Due to their sustainable growth and strengthening regional purchasing structures, they are looking to recruit an experienced Commodity Manager.
The successful candidate will be challenged with managing assigned Commodity - Steel - in Europe, working closely with business, as well as the plants and distribution centers.

Description
You will report to the European Commodity Director and your main duties will be:
- Apply Company's industrial sourcing strategy to Steel commodity
- Strategically manage a regional spend of over 65 Million USD to ensure maximum leverage on suppliers and optimum cost savings
- Manage and develop a portfolio of 100+ vendors
- Contribute to further development and improvement of assigned portfolio by risk and opportunities assessment, benchmarking, direct negotiations, etc.
- Lead cross-functional projects with marketing, quality, and sales departments in order to meet the targets
- Work closely with business in order to achieve annual productivity plans
Profile
- Master's Degree or relevant education in Economics or Engineering
- Post-graduate degree in Purchasing Education would be an asset
- Materials, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive background strongly preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Sourcing or Commodity Management
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Steel Procurement
- Excellent analytic skills, strong financial knowledge
- Demonstrated networking, relationship building and influencing skills
- Results and quality orientation, attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as a part of the team
