For our Client, software company located in Cracow we are searching for Cloud Operations Manager.

Your new role
The Cloud Operations Manager will work in partnership with Engineering, Professional Services, Customer Support, Business and 3rd party suppliers assuring smooth operations of company’s service. This position will be instrumental in assuring desired up time and optimal performance of the platform including cost effectiveness. A successful candidate will have an extensive background in Linux systems administration, performance, and troubleshooting. This should come together with a service oriented mindset and exceptional issue/problem solving skills. The Cloud Operations Manager will manage a team consisting of up to 10 System Engineers and Database Administrators. Daily tasks will involve ensuring optimal operations of all service components, respond to requests from adjacent teams and assuring adhering to procedures. He/She will proactively identify and promote improvements, drive systems automation and orchestration as well as operation optimisation. Responsibilities:
  • Be in charge of the management, configuration, and administration of computer operations of the Software Platform (Oracle database, virtualisation layer, JBOSS servers, ColdFusion).
  • Create and maintain service documentation including Operations Run Book to ensure that all computer operations procedures are up to date and reflect the current processing requirements.
  • Regularly review and analyse service metrics and drive remediation/corrective plans. Report on service performance and quality.
  • Create a Planned Maintenance Schedule of work to prevent interruptions to service
  • Ensure continued security of the platform through initiatives such as hardened builds, regular patching and log management.
  • Ensure incidents are resolved within given SLA and that proper investigation takes place, following through on remedial actions to improve service and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Managing crisis situations, which may involve complex technical problems
  • Maintain and test the Disaster Recovery Plan, ensuring any lessons learnt are applied to improve this service.
  • Assure that internal processes are followed along with the company policies, including Incident/Problem/Change Management processes, capacity planning, business continuity, security policies, etc.
  • Document and administer software maintenance contracts, site licenses and 3rd party service suppliers.
  • Forecast and maintain budget
  • Support project initiatives. Assure appropriate projects resources
  • Lead a team of IT professionals (up to 10) consisting of System Engineers and Database Administrators
  • Set team goals and drive execution
  • Identify and drive continuous improvements initiatives
  • Provide reporting according to service metrics

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be relevant candidate you need to be customer focused and hold a minimum 5 years of experience in IT Operations & Support, previous experience in maintaining Linux based systems including shell scripting and at least 2 years of maintaining commercial applications hosted in AWS cloud. Moreover, we look for candidate with 3 to 5 years of experience in managing a team of IT professionals and experience in supporting application service performance analysis & diagnosis. An adequate person should be fluent in English well organized, analytical and problem solving oriented person. We are searching for person able to work with remote teams in different countries
