Cloud IT Engineer

Job specification:

• Full IaaS/PaaS development, following local & global architectural standards and processes:
• Delivery and review of architecture diagrams and project documentation
• Configuration capture and ongoing management processes
• Infrastructure scripting through Puppet/PowerShell/DSC
• Security Group configuration and management
• Deployment of Azure & AWS services (EC2 incl. auto-scaling, ELB, EBS & S3, Redis, Cloudwatch, EMR etc.)
• Refinement of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) model to support Continuous Delivery, incl. all user account creation and permissions management (IAM, AD Wintel & Linux)
• Provide leadership to project teams, and facilitates the definition of project deliverables around core Cloud based technology and methods. Researches, identifies and develops solution pathways to business challenges and standards for implementation of those from a cloud services and security implementation perspective
• Define tracking mechanisms and ensures IT standards and methodology are met; manages expectations and project scope; appropriately reports status; delivers quality results. Maintain support documentation with up to date processes and procedures and continually reviews priorities and makes decisions on things that are most critical to the organization
• Translate complex Functional Specifications to detail Technical Designs regarding the Enterprise cloud architecture/services and security requirements. Provide input, guidance and recommendations on Technical Designs developed by other team members
• Engage with others (internal/external) to share best practices, information, and experiences. Works with group to define norms and ground rules and ensures they are respected and followed
• Work with external teams to establish performance baselines; Define monitor systems performance and tuning for peak performance for data traffic and security within all aspects of the extended and external cloud resources where possible
• Develop necessary documentation for any modified or develop components, software and processes/procedures
• Proactively identifying issues and improvement opportunities
• Partner with other technology leaders, business partners, and stakeholders to understand and identify business demand, priorities, issues, and strategies to help establish and define the right structure to meet the short-term and long-term needs
• Direct resources to diagnose and resolve complex system, application software, security and related problems that impact system and availability
• Support global organization as a compute and cloud SME

Requirements:

• 2+ years of cloud development, implementation and design experience
• 2+years supporting converged & hyper-converged solutions, including but not limited to the following products: EMC VxRail, VxRack, VxBlock, UCS
• Some experience as DBA Administration
• Proven “hands-on” experience managing and modifying Cloud resources and VMS
• Experience as Team Lead, Supervisor or other leadership position
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Being able to work independently with strong leadership skills
• Ability to provide detailed status and risk indicators to senior management
• Proven consulting and project skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Strong technical aptitude
• Ability to multitask and prioritize activities
• Strong interpersonal skills
