The role is responsible for the efficient and effective managing of the team and day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. The Chief Account will support Managing Director in development, implementation and execution of accounting policies, procedures and run projects together the global finance team.

Our client is an international sales and distribution company. To strengthen their operations in Poland we are seeking to recruit an experienced candidate for the position of Chief Accountant. The role is responsible for the efficient and effective managing of the team and day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. The Chief Account will support Managing Director in development, implementation and execution of accounting policies, procedures and run projects together the global finance team.
Description
- Responsible for the full entity accounting in accordance with generally binding regulations (PAS and US GAAP)
- Maintains accounting books, analyses and reconciles accounts
- Ensures timely and accurately preparation of financial statements, period end close
- Responsible for timely and accurately preparation of tax filings (CIT, VAT, PIT, ZUS) and statistical reporting (GUS, NBP, other)
- Responsible for the timely implementation of regulatory changes
- Regularly (monthly) checks the correctness of billing
- Makes recommendations to improve accounting processes
- Leads, develops and mentors accounting team (5 FTEs)
- Supports Managing Director in group (internal) reporting
- Prepares ad hoc accounting analysis as required
- Implements corporate finance/accounting related projects and initiatives
Profile
- University degree in accounting or finance; MF license of keeping the accounting books or equivalent professional qualification
- Excellent knowledge of PAS, US GAAP or IFRS and tax regulations
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as chief accountant, preferably in sales, distribution environment with an ERP class systems, SAP experience will be a plus
- Experience in process and procedures improvement
- Person of integrity, reliable, self-driven, proactive, high communication skills
- Proven experience in managing and developing teams
- Fluent communications skills in English
- Ability to work within a multicultural environment with multiple stakeholders
