Our client is a professional Agriculture organization, based in Zuid-Holland Netherlands.
Our client is an independent research organisation providing for quality in research done by commercial organisations. Having had a look at the future and developments in the field of agricultural research, our client is looking to create a bioinformatics group within the organisation. Currently we are looking for the right person to lead such a group with good knowledge of bioinformatics.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
In this role you will be leading a team of bioinformaticians whilst also taking care of your very own workload and research projects. The work that is being done is on a project basis, therefore it is required that you're able to work on various projects simultaneously.
In this role you will be building and leading your own team of bioinformaticians. This means leading them in their work and communicating with different stakeholders to ensure that goals are met.
Occasional consultations with clients is necessary, therefore the person needs to be open-minded.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Doing bioinformatic research on a project basis;
- Leading a team of bioinformaticians and ensuring the quality of their work;
- Developing relations with clients.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least a MSc in bioinformatics, a PhD is preferred;
- Knowledge of and experience with the most basic bioinformatic tools such as R, Perl, etc.;
- Good communication skills and qualities of a leader.
