Big Data Applications Developer
Location: GdyniaSupport the Business Intelligence Team providing easily accessible fact based information to all levels of users in the form of analysis, reports and dashboards. You will work in a global team, with main presence in Norway, China, Poland, Netherlands and Germany.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, operate and support applications and Big Data components, including data analysis and design, HDFS layout, stream ingestion, data transforms and integration, data quality checks, software deployments, configuration management, automated testing, maintenance, troubleshooting and analytic support, within on premise and cloud based Hadoop clusters
- Design, develop and support solutions and applications deployed in Microsoft Azure services suite (e.g. HD Insight, Spark, HBase)
- Help establish and maintain data governance, catalogues, and best practices
- Program and analyze data using technologies and languages such as Spark, Hive, Python, R and C# in Visual Studio
- Diagnose and resolve performance issues
- Work with Operations team to design and implement maintenance routines, automated monitoring solutions, backup and disaster recovery strategy
- Mentor or provide technical guidance to less experienced staff
- Supporting data analysts/scientists
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in computer science, software development or other relevant fields
- 3-5 years of work experience in fields relevant for software development, machine learning, data analytics
- Experience processing large amounts of structured and unstructured data
- Experience with Hadoop eco-system and tools such as Hive and Spark
- Experience with languages like Python, R and C#
- Experience with REST web API ecosystem
- Understand relational and non-relational database design principles, including normalization, denormalization, and ability to read and interpret source and target systems.
- Experience with front end development (html, CSS, JS)
- Project Management experience
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft development platform would be a desired benefit
