For our Client, Maersk Drilling – global leader in Oil & Gas industry which is currently opening new office in Gdańsk we are looking for:
BI Operational Specialist
The Business Intelligence development team (BI DevOps) based in Manila was established in early 2018 with the aim of operating and developing new BI solutions for the Power BI platform at MD. Having expanded the platform with an additional 15 solutions in 2018, the scope and complexity of the Power BI platform has grown to such an extent that the BICC requires additional resources to operate, maintain, and deploy solution on par with the quality standard we have. As such, the BICC will be recruiting a BI Operational Specialist tasked with the operational tasks, preferably with experience in DevOps, reporting to the Head of the BICC, yet working closely with the BI Application Manager in Manila and the BI DevOps teams in Manila and Gdańsk. This will offload all operational tasks from the developers leading to increased capacity for BI sprint delivery while simultaneously ensuring dedicated and prompt reaction to incidents and tickets, assisting developers with deployment.

Responsibilities:
- MS SQL Database and Query Optimization and Overall Performance responsible
- Monitoring of Data Warehouse ETL batch jobs, collaborating with BI DevOps team on implementing performance improvement changes
- Release and Deployment of new DW components in lower and Production environments
- MS SQL Database Administration, including access management, backup/recovery and patching of production and management of lower environments (development, test, QA, UAT)
- MS SQL infrastructure and resource monitoring (capacity, memory and disk space) & troubleshooting
- Incident and Request ticket and Problem records management for BI
- Initial investigation of incidents and implementation of workarounds and/or quick fixes
- Execution of application-specific complex tasks
Qualifications:
- Strong MS SQL DBA background, and experience from similar operational role
- Experience with full-scale and partial deployment methods and practices
- Exceptional T-SQL skills, also within execution planning and profiling
- ETL and SSIS Experience
- Experience with Azure SQL database and Azure Analysis Services
- Experience with Team Foundation Server/Azure DevOps
- Enjoys structure, processes yet is pragmatic and able to be agile
