Our main office is located in Delft with three subsidiaries in the USA, UK and China, and more than 170 employees working in Marketing & Sales, Product Development, Production, QC and after-sales product support. For our Sales Department we are currently searching for an:
Area Manager

General tasks

• The Area Manager works for the Marketing and Sales Department and focuses on the promotion and realization of sales of bioreactor systems in the assigned area and assists the International Sales Manager in the development of the sales strategy for the coming years.
• The area manager will grow sales in the assigned area
• Maintain contact with end users and grow the Applikon network in the area
• Maintain contact with and support distributors in the area
• Prepare tenders and ensure the availability of all commercial data required for, managing and monitoring the tender and booking the order
• Prepare maintains and monitors the annual operational annual plan as well as the quarterly sales plan

 
The Area Manager is highly motivated to communicate with prospects, customers, partners and distributors as well as to acquire new customers. He/she encourages and supports the distributor network and answers customers’ technical and commercial questions.

Education and training of the distributors regarding the work to be performed is part of the job and if necessary the area manager will recruit / replace distributors and motivate in his/her area. The Area Manager reports to the International Sales manager.
 

Profile

• We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with a bachelor degree in a technical discipline preferably life sciences or (bio) process technology. The eligible candidate has the following profile:
• You have affinity for technology backed-up by a commercial education
• You have at least 3 years’ experience in a commercial role
• You have experience of long sales processes and consultative selling techniques
• You possess excellent commercial and interpersonal skills
• You are a capable negotiator and will develop a good knowledge of the functionality of our product range
• You are independent and flexible
• You have good knowledge of English and Dutch language (spoken and written), other modern languages being a plus
• You are willing to travel regularly worldwide (30%-50%) and have a driving license B
