Our client is a professional Food organization, based in Germany.
A global nutrient delivery systems company, which specializes in the research, development and production of high-quality customised vitamin and mineral premix solutions is currently looking for an Application Specialist for their Technical Services/R&D team.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Applications Specialist is responsible for the development of premix formulas, release to production as per customer requirements and evaluation and release of raw materials. This position provides formulation specifications and technical support to the international sales team and customers within the EMEA region.This position reports to the Tecnology Development Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop formulas based on customer requirements.
Ensure ingredient compliance to customers’ specifications.
Check and ensure customer requirements on quality and technical suitability.
Create and participate release of recipes on basis of customer specifications.
Initiate and administrate raw material and blend sample preparation and shipment.
Create and provide raw material and blend specifications.
Evaluate ingredients and investigate their properties with regard to use in premixes and manufactured products.
Development of new blends and processes for various finished product applications and prototypes.
Troubleshoot application questions in German and English.
Resolve and answer technical inquiries on raw materials and manufactured products as needed.
Resolve and answer customer inquiries on scientific and regulatory issues.
Collaborate with project teams in order to work efficiently and target –oriented within agreed timeframe.
Maintain accurate notebooks, files and training records.
Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Chemistry or related field.
1-3 years experience in similar position
Food science background.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Hands on experience of using and operating SAP systems
German, fluent in written and spoken, English required (other European languages are welcome).
Travel requirements: 10%-20%
