Currently we are looking for a person on the position of:

Application Buyer – Global Purchasing Team

Miejsce pracy: Gliwice

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate supplier new product introductions in support of product launches, risk & manufacturability reviews. Provide active representation on the project teams until SOP + 90 days;
  • Representing GSCM in the program launch team and providing business unit support during program launch;
  • Secure competitive bids for new sourcing nomination, based on defined bidder lists; estimate price comparison forms to determine costs for new and current projects;
  • Lead supplier selection meeting in alignment with global purchasing commodity strategies and new product performance requirements; leading early supplier involvement, value analysis/value engineering, and leading supplier;
  • Launch coordination with local manufacturing sites in alignment with global commodity strategies/ ECM filtration and delegation;
  • Align tooling payment terms, material & logistics protocol, risk assessment & manufacturability reviews;
  • Support improvement of supplier launch procedures to minimize inventory obsolescence and support lean manufacturing needs in alignment with operational expectations;
  • Liaison to business units, as required.

Profile:

  • Master degree or equivalent in a related Business or Technical discipline in a related business;
  • Min. 4 years of manufacturing or engineering related experience (prior purchasing experience desirable);
  • Fluent English, other languages are an asset;
  • Program Management skills with strong analytical ability;
  • Strong team player with demonstrated ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams;
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written;
  • Detailed understanding of modern technologies at existing and new supply-base;
  • Familiar with a range of materials and processes; e.g., steel, stamping, forging, machining, casting, cold heading, rubber and plastic.
