Currently we are looking for a person on the position of:
Application Buyer – Global Purchasing Team
Miejsce pracy: GliwiceResponsibilities:
- Coordinate supplier new product introductions in support of product launches, risk & manufacturability reviews. Provide active representation on the project teams until SOP + 90 days;
- Representing GSCM in the program launch team and providing business unit support during program launch;
- Secure competitive bids for new sourcing nomination, based on defined bidder lists; estimate price comparison forms to determine costs for new and current projects;
- Lead supplier selection meeting in alignment with global purchasing commodity strategies and new product performance requirements; leading early supplier involvement, value analysis/value engineering, and leading supplier;
- Launch coordination with local manufacturing sites in alignment with global commodity strategies/ ECM filtration and delegation;
- Align tooling payment terms, material & logistics protocol, risk assessment & manufacturability reviews;
- Support improvement of supplier launch procedures to minimize inventory obsolescence and support lean manufacturing needs in alignment with operational expectations;
- Liaison to business units, as required.
Profile:
- Master degree or equivalent in a related Business or Technical discipline in a related business;
- Min. 4 years of manufacturing or engineering related experience (prior purchasing experience desirable);
- Fluent English, other languages are an asset;
- Program Management skills with strong analytical ability;
- Strong team player with demonstrated ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams;
- Good communication skills, verbal and written;
- Detailed understanding of modern technologies at existing and new supply-base;
- Familiar with a range of materials and processes; e.g., steel, stamping, forging, machining, casting, cold heading, rubber and plastic.
