Senior Business Analyst

Duties & Responsibilities

Typical

 Working with business and technical teams, in Dublin, the US and off-shore, to create business deliverables such as Process Maps, Business Requirements, Functional Requirements (including Use cases) documentation and user acceptance tests

 Working with business and technical teams to support the development of Technical Requirements

 Facilitating workshops (typically tel/web conference) with business stakeholders to develop requirements

 Develop process and data mapping for systems

 Act as key liaison between business and technical teams, including building and managing relationships with business functions

 Work closely with business, engineering, project management and quality assurance teams in the overall delivery of solutions

 Support change requirements through accurate impact analysis and change specifications

 Drive quality through adherence to and supporting project management processes and procedures, including the maintenance of documentation on shared file systems

 Provides support to business owners and project managers to help drive business initiatives

 Contribute to improvements to HMH Business Analysis documentation and methodologies

 Essential

 5-7+ years in a similar BA role

 Experience across the entire systems development lifecycle

 Experience in business process modelling and use case analysis

 Excellent workshop/interview facilitations skills

 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to articulate complex processes and concepts to non-experts

 Ability to clearly and concisely gather, interpret, analyse and document information

 Proven experience in analytical, research and problem-solving techniques

 Ability to establish creative solutions to meet requirements

 Experience in managing tight deadlines, coordinating activities, managing and escalating risks and issues

 Experience of working in and leading teams (including virtual teams)

 Must be a self starter, highly driven and willingness to make decisions as appropriate.

 Project management experience,
Experience of working in an agile development environment

 Strong understanding of current software development technologies and methodologies

 Experience of using the full MS Office suite as well as other MS tools such as SharePoint and Visual SourceSafe

 Previous experience of Learning Management Systems/Educational/Publishing systems would be an advantage
